Club Rules
These are the rules of the Rovertown Sock of the Month club. They are written to be read, not to be survived. If anything here is unclear, write to mike@rovertown.com and we will explain it in plain words.
Effective 13 August 2026 · Rovertown, St. Louis, Missouri, USA
1. Who runs this
Sock of the Month is a promotional program operated by Rovertown, in collaboration with Fiserv, and it exists to put socks on people. Buying socks from us does not make you a Rovertown customer in any other sense and gives you no rights to any other Rovertown product or service.
2. We can change or end the program
Rovertown may modify, suspend, or discontinue the program, or any tier within it, at any time and for any reason. If we do:
- The period you have already paid for is honoured — we ship it, or we refund it.
- Nothing renews after that. You are not charged again.
- We will tell you at the email address on your subscription.
We may also refuse or cancel any individual subscription at our discretion. If we cancel yours, we refund any period you have paid for and not yet received.
3. Automatic renewal, in plain words
- You are billed monthly, starting the day you sign up, and again on that same day of each following month. The first charge is taken at signup.
- The subscription renews automatically at the price shown on the plan when you subscribed, until you cancel it.
- You can cancel online at any time, from your account page or from the link in any club email. No phone call, no letter, no retention script.
- Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for. Any pair already paid for still ships. Nothing further is charged.
- Cancelling does not refund the current period. If you believe you were charged in error, write to us and we will sort it out.
Your card is captured by Fiserv and stored by them as a token so we can charge the monthly renewal. See the privacy notice for what that means.
4. Changing tiers
The club has ranked tiers. Moving between them works exactly like this, and this is what the system actually does — it is not a summary of something more complicated:
- Every change takes effect on your next billing date, whether you are moving up or moving down. This is a club that ships your month's socks in one go: there is no part of this month left to sell you, so a change applies to your next box.
- Nothing is charged and nothing is refunded when you change. No part-months in either direction. Your next invoice is simply the new tier's price.
- The socks you have already paid for are never affected by a change you make after they were charged for.
- Your billing date never moves. Changing tiers does not restart your month.
- A scheduled change can be called off at any time before it takes effect, in either direction, by picking your current tier again. If you change your mind more than once, the last tier you picked is the one that starts.
- Moving into or out of the Friends & Family plan is not supported, because the number of seats would change. Cancel and re-subscribe if you want to switch between them.
Before any change is applied, we show you the date it starts and the price from then on, and you have to confirm it.
5. What each tier gets you
A tier is a quantity of socks, and nothing else. 1 Pair a Month ships one fresh pair; 2 Pairs a Month ships two, together in one box to one address. The Friends & Family plan has two seats and therefore ships two pairs a month, one to each person on it, at their own addresses, on one card and one charge.
We do not promise a particular design, a rotation, or anything else in the box. You are buying fresh socks on a schedule. What arrives is whatever pair we are shipping that month.
Somebody you seat on a Friends & Family plan gets socks. They do not get an account, a login, or any control over the subscription; the person paying manages it.
6. Promo codes
- Codes are subject to their own limits: an expiry, a total number of uses, and a cap across the campaign they belong to. When a cap is reached, the code stops working.
- Where a code is locked to a customer, it is one per customer.
- Some codes are for first-time subscribers only. Cancelling and re-subscribing does not make you a first-time subscriber again.
- A discount lasts for the duration stated when you applied it. After that the subscription renews at the full price, which we show you before you subscribe.
- Codes have no cash value and cannot be combined unless we say so.
7. Shipping
- United States addresses only, for now. US shipping is free.
- Getting the address right is on you. We ship where you told us to. Check it on your account page; you can change it there any time before a shipment goes out.
- If a package is lost in the post, tell us. We will usually reship it. That is a judgement we make case by case in good faith, not an unlimited guarantee.
- Please allow 5–7 days for delivery once a pair ships.
8. The socks
They are socks. We warrant that they are socks: wearable, made of what a sock is made of, and sent to you in a condition you would expect. We make no other promise about them — not about which design you receive, not about fit beyond "one size fits most", and not about their suitability for any particular purpose.
9. Our liability
To the extent the law allows, Rovertown's total liability to you under these rules is limited to the amount you have actually paid us for the subscription or order the claim relates to. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. Getting hold of us
Write to mike@rovertown.com. That address reaches a person, and it is the right place for cancellations you cannot complete online, refunds, address problems, or anything on this page you want explained.
These rules may be updated. If we change something that affects what you pay or how you cancel, we will tell you at the email address on your subscription before it takes effect.
